Courses Taught

HORT 8150.  Plant Growth and Development.  3 credit hours, Graduate level course on the growth and development of plants with emphasis on issues of interest in economic crop development. Topics covered include: cell enlargement and growth, polarity, dormancy, seed germination, meristem and leaf development, shoot growth patterns, juvenility and maturity, pollination and flowering, fruit set and development, and environmental effects on growth and development.

HORT 3620.  Plant Propagation. 3 credit hours (lecture and lab).  Undergraduate level course on the principles and practices for increasing plant numbers with emphasis on the anatomical and physiological basis for various methods.  Propagation methods include use of cuttings, grafting, modified stems and roots, layering, seed, tissue culture and genetic engineering.
